Sunday School

Becoming a part of a Sunday school class is a great way to study God’s Word and get involved and connected at Northwest Baptist. Our in-depth Bible studies are gospel-centered and prayer-centered and provide precious opportunities to fellowship with the body of Christ while preparing individuals to practically apply the gospel in their own lives and in their local communities.

Below, you’ll find some general age guidelines. Of course, the most important thing is to get involved with a class, which begins at 9:15am. If you’d like some more information, be sure to stop by the Welcome Center in the vestibule or email Tara Fox at tfox@nwbm.org.

Adults
“How to Study the Bible for All Its Worth”

Using Gordon D. Fee’s practical guide for in-depth Bible study, this class aims to dispel the notion that only pastors and seminary students have the ability to comprehend God’s Word. By examining genres, historical context, language differences, the Biblical authors’ original intent, and the indispensible role of the Holy Spirit, class members will have the opportunity to learn about proper methods of Biblical interpretation.

"Why We're Not Emergent: By Two Guys Who Should Be," by Kevin DeYoung and Ted Kluck

With their approachable but careful analysis, DeYoung and Kluck look at some elements of the Emergent Church that perhaps warrant closer inspection by evangelicals. They do not presume to speak for all who identify with emergent or emerging viewpoints, but they instead attempt to "join the conversation" in their helpful critique that is sure to spark helpful discussion.

“Growing Together in Christ”

Designed for married couples, this class examines how couples can truly grow in faith together, examining the power of prayer, Bible study, and obedience to God in all areas of one’s life. We know that as the home goes, so goes the church, and this study is an excellent resource in developing a Christ-centered marriage and home.

College & Career
“The 1689 Baptist Confession of Faith”

Using this Reformed confession, this class studies the sovereignty of God, starting with the Holy Scriptures and the Trinity and then moving to aspects of salvation like justification, adoption, sanctification, and repentance. We will also be looking at concepts such as assurance of salvation, Christian liberty, and the Sabbath, while ending with a close look at marriage, communion, baptism, the Lord's Supper, and more.
